Standardization
Key tenants of data quality include standardization, completeness, and consistency. Here we address standardization, meaning we examine the data received to ensure it is appropriately coded using USCDI Coding standards (eg. Diagnosis is expected to be received as a ICD10 or SNOMED code). Each data element has a USCDI acceptable standard. The table below indicates what percentage of the data sent from the Hospitals is standardized. Standardization allows all receivers of the data to ingest, understand and act on the data.
We have been working closely with our hospital partners to improve the data standardization, and there is much work still in progress in the coming months. Click for details.
